Track Information
Track is open to all Boerne Area boys and girls ages 4 through 16. All sports activities are competitive and will be playing other churches within the Northside Catholic Athletic League (NSCAL) - Archdiocese of San Antonio CYO Zone VI. The churches within Zone VI currently include Our lady of Guadalupe ( Helotes), Prince of Peace, St. Brigid, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Peter (Boerne), St. George Maronite, St. Gregory the Great, St. Luke, St. Mary Magdalen, St. Matthew, Our lady of Atonement, and Faith Out Reach. Track season consists of two meets. The Zone VI Track Meet Sat/Sun in March (date tba). And the City Wide CYO Track Meet on March 20th & 21st, 2009.
NO member of a varsity high school track team will be accepted as a competitor in the meet. All participants MUST wear shoes, but no cleats, or metal of any kind or hard rubber are prohibited. Track shoes with the spikes taken out are not allowed. Track shoes with soft rubber are allowed.
CYO Track Events include: 400 Team Meter Relay (Tot – Junior), 400 Meter Run (Tot-Peewee), 800 Meter Run (Mite-Junior), 120 Yard Dash (Cub and Junior), 100 YD (Mite – Junior), 75 YD (Peewee-Junior), 60 YD (Tot-Tiny), 50 YD (Tot-Mite), 40 YD (Tot-Peewee), Shot Put (Cub and Juniors), 12" Softball Throw, Girls only (Tot-Mite), High Jump (Tiny-Junior (boys), Cub & Junior (girls)), Running Long Jump (Tot-Junior (boys), Tiny-Junior (girls)), and Standing Long Jump (Tot-Mite).
A contestant will be allowed to participate in only two (2) individual events plus running with the relay team.
Registration will open in January 2010.
Fee per contestant (tba). Cost covers t-shirt, CYO patch, Accident Coverage, and ribbon.
